The New Local Government Network and ENGIE’s (formerly known as GDF Suez) presented an exclusive report launch on Monday 20 March 2017 at The Cholmondeley Room at The House of Lords entitled;
‘Places of Tomorrow;
Making Smart Innovations Deliver for Local Government’
The report explored how Local Authorities can practically utilise technology-led infrastructure, data analytics and networks for better outcomes. Local government needs to become self-sustaining. Technological change is inevitable and provides vast opportunities to enable this. Some Local Authorities are already taking advantage of smart capabilities by reframing their relationship with people and businesses. The report offered practical guidance on how Local Authorities can:
- Manage and reduce demand using smart technologies
- Reform the relationship with people to enable change
- Innovate through more collaborative forms of procurement
The launch included a presentation of the report’s findings, drawing on examples of good practice, including the opportunity to hear contributions from key Stakeholders.
Quentin Baker, Executive Director said;
“The report launch delivered by NLGN and ENGIE was very informative and was well attended by the senior members of the legal world”.
